A free check reads the court source and then serves the same answer for 15 minutes. A watched case is re-checked about every 6 hours. Nothing here is real time, and every result carries the time it was last checked.

Which courts, and how fresh
United States federal district courts — all 94 districts, including the territorial district courts. State, county and municipal courts are not supported yet. Docket data comes from CourtListener and its RECAP archive.
Questions people ask before they start
Do I have to pay to look up a case?
No. The case lookup is free, needs no account and has no limit. You pay when you want CaseMagic to keep reading the docket for you and tell you when it changes.
What happens at the end of the free trial?
The card you gave at checkout is charged the plan price and monitoring continues. Cancel any time before the 7 days are up and nothing is charged at all.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Moving up takes effect immediately so the extra cases can be added straight away, and the difference is prorated by the payment processor. Moving down applies from the next billing date.
What counts as a monitored case?
One federal docket that CaseMagic is watching for you. A case you merely looked up does not count, and neither does one you have stopped watching.
Is there a contract or a sales call?
Neither. The price on this page is the price, you start it yourself, and you cancel it yourself from the billing page.
The checkout page says Piloxa. Is that you?
Yes. CaseMagic is run by Decentralized Publishing LLC, which also runs Piloxa, a certified-mail service, and the card processor account is registered under that name. The checkout page and the line on your card statement read Piloxa; the plan, the price and the trial are exactly what this page says.
Do I need a PACER account, and will I pay PACER fees?
No PACER login is needed. Watching reads the docket through CourtListener and its RECAP archive, and CaseMagic never charges PACER fees or adds any to the plan price. If you choose to save your own PACER login on the account page, CaseMagic reads new entries straight from PACER for you, and those reads, usually one page at $0.10, are billed by PACER to your account, not by us.
How do I cancel?
From your account, open the billing page and cancel there. Monitoring runs until the end of the period you have paid for, and everything CaseMagic has already collected about your cases stays readable.

Two ways. Check a case by number on the home page, free, and the result offers to watch that case; or pick a plan above and add your cases after checkout. Either way the first 7 days are free, it needs no PACER login, and the trial starts at $99 a month only if you keep it.

It takes a case number and no account, and it shows you the real docket. That is the only honest way to find out whether this is worth $99 a month to you.
