CaseMagic and Grok
Give Grok your federal court case
Point Grok at your docket once. After that, "anything new in my case?" is a question you ask rather than a website you visit.
What Grok can do with CaseMagic
- "Check case 1:23-cv-11195 in the Southern District of New York."
- The caption, the court, the judges, the cause of action and the latest docket entries, read from the court source while you wait. No CaseMagic account needed.
- "Explain the latest filing in that case."
- The exact words the court published for that entry, the entries around it and where the case stands, so the assistant can explain the filing rather than guess at it. Still no account needed.
- "What dates are set in that case?"
- Only the dates the docket itself states — "Responses due by 14 October", "Hearing set for 2 March" — each quoted with the entry that says so. Beyond those it computes only two deadlines the Federal Rules fix the same way everywhere — the time to move after a judgment and the time to file a notice of appeal — and only when the judgment is on the docket, each shown with its rule. It works out nothing that depends on local rules or a judge’s orders, and says so when the docket sets no dates.
- "What happened in my case this week?"
- Every docket entry CaseMagic has recorded since then, with the date each one was filed.
- "Keep watching this case and tell me when it changes."
- Monitoring starts on the case, and CaseMagic emails you when the docket moves — whether or not you ever open the assistant again.
- "What did opposing counsel send to my case address?"
- The correspondence collected at the case’s CaseMail address, kept alongside the docket in the same record.
- "Load everything you have on my case before we start."
- The Case Passport: the docket history and the correspondence as one record, so nothing has to be re-uploaded or re-explained.
How to connect
- Go to grok.com/connectors. On the phone apps it is Settings, then Connectors.
- Press New Connector and choose Custom.
- Paste the CaseMagic address below and save it.
- Approve the CaseMagic sign-in screen when it appears. It names the four permissions before anything is shared.
- Ask Grok about your case.
The CaseMagic address: https://casemagic.ai/mcp
On a Grok Business or Enterprise team it is an admin who adds the connector, at console.x.ai under Grok Business, Connectors, Add Connector, choosing "Other". xAI moves these menus more often than the others, so if yours does not match, search Grok’s own settings for connectors.
ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI, Claude of Anthropic, Grok of xAI and Gemini of Google. Logos are shown only to say CaseMagic works with these assistants. CaseMagic is not affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with any of these companies.
If Grok asks for a client id and secret
Some connector setups register themselves and some ask you for credentials. CaseMagic issues them either way: the registration endpoint is /oauth/register and it accepts a standard RFC 7591 request.
What CaseMagic shares
- The case you ask about: its caption, court, case number, judges and docket entries, read from the court source.
- For a case you have connected, its Case Passport — the docket history and the correspondence collected at its CaseMail address, as one record.
- Nothing about any case you have not connected, and nothing about any other account.
It travels one way. CaseMagic receives the requests Grok makes to it and nothing else: not the rest of your conversation, not your files, not your other tools.
Privacy and permissions
Before anything is shared, CaseMagic shows you a sign-in screen naming exactly four permissions. These are the four, in the words that screen uses:
- Read the cases you have connected: docket activity and your Case Passport.
- Connect a case and start or stop CaseMagic Watch on it.
- Read the correspondence in your CaseMail address for a connected case.
- Draft a CaseMail message for you to review. It can never send one by itself.
The last one is worth reading twice: an assistant can write a message for you and can never send one. It hands you a link, the link expires, and nothing leaves CaseMagic until you open it and confirm.
Disconnecting ends the access at once rather than at the end of a session, and it changes nothing about your case: the docket history, the CaseMail address and the Case Passport all stay exactly as they were. See how CaseMagic handles your data.

Where this stands, honestly
Nothing below is marked as working until someone has connected it and watched a real case come back. The CaseMagic side is live in production; what is untested is this provider's half of the handshake.

What is free and what is paid

Free, every time

- the total number of docket entries
- the five most recent docket entries with their real text
- a link to the free copy of a filing where one exists

What a subscription adds

A free check reads the court source and then serves the same answer for 15 minutes. A watched case is re-checked about every 6 hours. Nothing here is real time, and every result carries the time it was last checked.

Ready to connect it?
Checking a case is free and needs no account. Monitoring starts at $99/month with a 7-day trial, and it is what keeps reading the docket once you have closed the tab.
In the last 14 days the courts opened 11,205 new federal civil cases across 71 districts, and every one of those dockets will move without a word to the people in it. Watch reads yours every day and emails you the change.
7 days free, $0 today, then $99/month. No PACER login. Cancel any time. Stripe runs the payment page.
Questions people ask before they start
Do I need a CaseMagic subscription to try this?
Not for the case lookup, which is free and needs no account from any assistant. A subscription is what lets an assistant connect a case, keep watching it and load its record.
What does CaseMagic get from Grok?
Only the requests Grok makes to it. CaseMagic has no view of your Grok conversation, your X account or anything else.
How do I have Grok watch my case?
Check the case first, free: ask Grok for it by number or by party and court. Then ask Grok to watch it. Watching needs a CaseMagic account connected to Grok, which it asks you to approve once; from then on the docket is re-read on a schedule and you are emailed the day a new entry appears, with its description and the time the docket was last read. It needs no PACER login. Watch is $99/month after a 7-day free trial, $0 today, cancel any time.
